Ready or not, bloggers here we come. . . .

Well, we have finally succumbed to the call of the blog. As with most great ideas, the “Peay Family Blog” was conceived in a moment of inspiration, begun in a flurry of excitement and then promptly forgotten. After months of procrastination and apathy (also known as pregnancy) we are finally getting around to writing our first post.

What was it you ask that brought about this change of heart? Some might argue that it was simply our desire to keep up with Jones’ in the burgeoning world of bloggers. Other more astute observers might speculate that Janell needed to find something to fill the hours during nap time. While these are all good guesses, what really brought about our passage into bloggerdom was the realization that a blog would be another great opportunity to brag about our cute little boy, and lets be honest, what adoring mom and dad could pass up an opportunity like that?

So, for starters, here is a little update on our lives:

Sam is busy with work and school. He is a senior this year and planning to graduate with his B.A. in May. After taking the GRE last week he is busy completing his applications for graduate school. He works at Wells Fargo Bank and can’t wait for the day when a tie will no longer be a part of his daily attire. Sam is learning all kinds of things as a new daddy. Some of the harsher lessons include soft spots and flying feces (don’t worry I won’t go into details about that one). Despite that, Sam is loving being a dad and seems to be in awe every time he takes Oliver into his arms. Ollie also loves his dad and saves up most of his smiles for when Sam comes home at night.

Janell is adapting amazingly well to being a full-time mommy. So, for any of you out there betting on when insanity would hit, you’ll have to hold out for a little bit longer. Besides loving every minute that she gets to spend at home with Ollie, she is picking up on some new skills as well. First and foremost would be her newfound ability to perform almost any task with only one hand. Her diaper changing and baby bathing skills are also being honed to perfection.

Oliver keeps quite busy by being as cute and adorable as possible. He really is quite a sweetheart. Mom and Dad feel very spoiled to get a little baby who hardly ever cries and started sleeping through the night his first week home from the hospital. Oliver’s talents include sucking on his fist, smiling, cooing and kicking. There is some debate at our house as to how many dimples Ollie really has, we have discovered two for sure but have caught flashes of a couple more. We will just have to plump him a bit more to find out for sure

Wow, what a CUTE little guy! How did you get him to make such darling faces? (not feces, FACES)

Yes, we heard about Sam's amazing time changing Ollie's diaper....we will have to have Sam retell it next we're together...it's good for a real laugh...

Thanks for the blog! Have a great day doing everything with one hand!
Love, Jane

Great pictures. Where's Janelle's picture? I think you got yourself a little poser there. The blog is a great idea, a bit high tech for me I'm afraid. Love Dad
